Zion National Park
Zion National Park is located in the southwest corner of Utah. After getting off of I-15, heading east on local roads for about 15 miles brings us to Virgin, UT, and the Zion River Resort RV Park, about 12 miles west of the Springdale entrance to Zion. Even though the temperature over the 3-day holiday weekend is predicted to be 105, 108, and 103 degrees respectively, it’s a “dry heat”.
For most of the year, visitors are prohibited from driving their own vehicles on the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive (with a very few exceptions). So they come to the entrance from the Springdale shuttle, or walk to the Visitors Center from town. Park shuttles run a continuous loop through the park so visitors can do the on-off routine at the 9 route stops to hike, take pictures, or sit by the river. The scenery changes throughout the day as the sun moves across the sky and casts light on the canyon walls.
The colors are so amazing!
